As International Chairman of the International Sathya Sai Organization and leader of the so-called ‘Prashanthi Council’, Dr. Michael Goldstein is ultimately responsible for the policies they support. One policy this largely clandestine and unaccountable organization has is to create as much exclusively positive propaganda and didinformation about Sathya Sai Baba as humanly possible on scores of Internet sites endorded by the Organization.

On the reverse side of the coin, the other face of the Sathya Sai Organization appears through the massive muck-raking, web stalking and slander by Gerald ‘Joe’ Moreno. He attacks through web pages of even the most reasonable criticism of Sathya Sai Baba, his Organization, its members and other Sai Baba devotees. That the Sathya Sai Organisation never mentions Moreno or his web pages in their endless permutations is doubtless only because they cannot afford to admit the glaringly obvious fact of their tacit support of his activities. Nonetheless, prominent Sai Baba websites which depend on Sai officialdom for information endorse and link to Moreno’s attack sites.

Sai authorities forced the closure of the Premsai website made by students which gave verbatim, complete translations of Sathya Sai Baba’s discourses, because these were too revealing of discrepancies in the sanitized official versions (Sanathana Sarathi’s doctored and heavily reduced translations). Thus, they have sufficient influence to stop any Sai websites or else at the least to refute their validity, which would make pariahs of them in the Sathya Sai movement.

In short, the Sathya Sai organisation is allowing Gerald ‘Joe’ Moreno to act as the mouthpiece of their propaganda, cover-ups and untruths. In the total absence of a single word of criticism of Moreno by them, and in their constant refusal to distance themselves from him and his methods, it is glaringly evident that they approve.

Thus, they are to be held accountable for not distancing themselves from his activities. Whether they finance him secretly or not, whether they support and aid him technically or not, makes no difference to the outcome. That he has been fed documents by the Sathya Sai Organization or its lawyers - evidence deposited in a Californian court but never presented in court or made available in the public domain or to anyone else but the lawyers and litigants involved - is evident. This complicity is sufficient to indict the Sathya Sai Organisation of using Moreno as their proxy mouthpiece to carry out personal attack and constant and forceful libel, which is totally against the teaching of Sathya Sai Baba which they claim to follow.

The Sathya Sai Organization has not distanced itself from the attempt by a former student, teacher and very close associate of Sai officials in the ashrams and the Indian Sathya Sai Organization, Murali Krishna Yachendra (cousin of a Raja of Venkatagiri, among Sai Baba’s earliest devotees), at massive and sustained sabotage through a huge fabric of lies in over 100 e-mails (all since fully exposed in public by B. Premanand in his book ‘Sabotage by Murali Krishna Yachendra – see http://www.saibabaexpose.com/Yachendra/Premanand.htm). The Prashanthi Council and the International Sathya Sai Organization allow such attempts to defend their figurehead and their own claims without any refutation of their support or involvement, which again speaks louder than words about their passive acceptance of such activities.

We have also discovered members of the Sathya Sai Organization - in some cases prominent - providing information, sometimes of a very distorted kind, to the pro Sai Baba activists. Included here are examples of encroaching on the rights to privacy of former devotees and other critics in their homes and workplaces. Business and academic activities of various critics of Sathya Sai Baba are under attack, and even the malicious naming of the business and children of a person not remotely connected, but a former partner of a critic has occurred, assisted by information in part supplied by Moreno’s own admission by those in the Sai Baba community in the locality of those attacked.

That Gerald Moreno is telling less than the truth about his relationship to Sathya Sai Baba is well illustrated by his original home page where he speaks of his ‘wonderful experiences with him’, the private interview he received and much more, including the famous ‘oiling procedure’ which he claims was only on the “lower stomach” though it is invariably on the genitals. Over three years of virtually full-time work attacking critics of Sathya Sai Baba and the Sathya Sai Organization on many hundreds of internet pages further proves his wilful deception in claiming he is a ‘neutral observer’. Dr. Goldstein is known for not having replied to letters from anyone who complains about having been sexually abused by Sathya Sai Baba or their parents (he has even sent back letters unopened), even when they were previously his colleagues and active Sai workers for many years in the Organization. The Prashanthi Council remains silent about the JuST group’s open letter to them, which further demonstrates their continued refusal of any public accountability. No Sai Baba official has responded to any requests for information or complaints, except for the head of Radio Sai, Dr. G. Venkataraman (more about him later). As the UK author, Kevin Shepherd [http://citizeninitiative.com/sathya_sai_and_wikipedia.htm], points out:

“The Sathya Sai Baba Organisation has been asked to deny that Moreno is acting on their behalf, but they have not done so.” And also “It has been strongly deduced that Moreno was fed with materials from the lawyer devotees in his contact, after he learnt about Sathya Sai Baba from Robert Baskin, the lawyer who was a Sathya Sai Baba evangelist in Western USA. (“Gerald ‘Joe’ Moreno on Wikipedia,” p. 10.) “

Further, an absurd and untruthful deposition of evidence with the court by a declared Sai devotee, Lawrence Kreydick, – engineered by the US Sathya Sai Society, though never presided over or heard in court - was trumpeted by Moreno on Wikipedia and elsewhere as ‘pivotal’ evidence against that of Alaya Rahm, while it was merely the views of an outsider who Alaya Rahm had not trusted to tell even to his own parents what he much later convincingly related on the BBC documentary (‘The Secret Swami’) had actually been occurring in private interviews with Sathya Sai Baba – very serious sexual abuses! Moreno had to accept removal of his postings of the false Kreydick testimony from the Sathya Sai Baba entry on Wikipedia because he could not prove it was available in the public realm except through himself. He was later banned outright indefinitely from Wikipedia.

Dr. M. Goldstein’s entire policy is summed up adequately by his statements to the BBC where they took the unusual step, employed when it has evidence of strong cover up, of filming with hidden camera. He exposed his true personality, aggression, self-importance and total psychological denial. (see here)

Having been instructed by Sathya Sai Baba not to get involved in replying to critics of any kind, Dr. M. Goldstein has obtained the support of this semi-educated person Moreno who was willing from the start to use outright lies and gutter tactics (see here) against everyone who produces any proof or makes any statement affecting his guru, whom he believes, as he said to the BBC’s ‘The Secret Swami’ to be none other than Jesus Christ, Buddha, the founder of all the world’s religions and who has always been God!

Gerald Joe Moreno’s deceptions were evidently planned carefully from the start in that he assiduously posted on every page as a footer that he was not a member of the Organization, nor even a devotee of Sai Baba. All the evidence points directly to his being a proxy mouthpiece of the Sathya Sai Organization. His connection with the law firm of Baskin and Mc Cutchan became clear when - because he is not a lawyer - he failed to obtain affidavits from journalist Øjvind Kyrø. Yet shortly after this failure, Mc Cutchan applied in several e-mails to Kryø for the same affidavits (under the extraordinary pretence that he was about to defend a client alleging sexual abuse by Sai Baba!). Mc Cutchan was asked to provide evidence of this and give an affidavit himself, but not another word came from him! So much for the truthfulness that Sai Baba everywhere exhorts in his followers!

That Dr. G. Venkataraman, head of Radio Sai and also a member of the Prashanthi Council also tacitly supports and approves of what Gerald Moreno is doing, is deemed likely since he presents a number of the same arguments that Moreno used in his insubstantial defence of Sai Baba against some of his critics. Some similarities are striking!

It has been a great shock enough to thousands around the world who have left Sai Baba and the Sathya Sai Organization that he and they have extensively covered up the scandals which have racked what Sai Baba has call "the" divine organization on the earth. However, the outrage has now been compounded. The organization which we once thought of as honourable lends itself to libel, slander, invasion of privacy, muck-racking, manipulation of Internet results on major search engines by the use of illicit and devious techniques, and other grave misconduct.  They use forms of abusive language and libel that are the very antithesis of what Sai Baba teaches. All of this is worlds away from being spiritual or ethical.
